How to Set Your Timezone in the Admin Console

January 25, 2024 By Rublon Authors

If you are a Rublon organization owner or administrator, you know how important it is to keep track of the dates and times of various events, such as authentication logs, billing information, and user activity. However, if you work with a global team or have customers from different timezones, you may find it confusing or inconvenient to see the dates and times in a different timezone than yours.

That’s why we are excited to announce a new feature in the Rublon Admin Console that allows you to set your own timezone in your administrator profile. This way, you can see the dates and times in the timezone that you are most comfortable with, and avoid any misunderstandings or errors due to timezone differences.

How to Set Your Timezone

Setting a timezone for an administrator in the Rublon Admin Console is very easy. Just follow these simple steps:

1. Sign in to the Rublon Admin Console.

2. Click the Profile icon in the top right corner

4. Select the preferred timezone from the Timezone dropdown.

5. Click Save.

That’s it! You have successfully set your timezone in the Rublon Admin Console. Now, you can see the dates and times in your chosen timezone in all the sections of the console.

Which Timezone is Set As Default?

When an administrator signs in to the Admin Console for the first time without a pre-set timezone, the application will automatically set the timezone based on the browser settings. However, if the browser sends a non-existent timezone in the request initiating the timezone setting, the request will be rejected. In such cases, the time will be displayed in the GMT-0 format. This ensures that even in the event of an error, administrators can still view the time, albeit in a universal format.

Who Can Change the Timezone?

Every administrator can only change their own timezone. Other administrators (including Owners) cannot see or change other administrators’ timezones.

Is the Timezone Setting Specific to the Admin Console?

Yes, the timezone setting is exclusive to the Rublon Admin Console. This means it doesn’t influence other aspects of Rublon MFA, such as the timestamp in the title of emails that include the Email Link. The timezone setting is designed to enhance your experience within the Admin Console without affecting other areas.

Why Setting Your Timezone Matters

Setting your timezone in the Rublon Admin Console has many benefits. Here’s the triple E of timezone benefits:

  • Enjoy a consistent and familiar date and time format across your website, regardless of where you or your users are.
  • Eliminate confusion and errors caused by timezone differences, especially when handling time-sensitive events or data.
  • Enhance your communication and collaboration with your team members and customers, as you can easily refer to the same dates and times without any ambiguity.
