Rublon 2FA for RDP Now Available

July 25, 2020 By Rublon Authors

Last updated on March 26, 2024

If you manage Windows servers remotely or have users who use an RDP client like Remote Desktop Connection to connect to your organization’s remote PCs or virtual apps, then it’s a good idea to secure those logins using two-factor authentication.

We have released version 2.1.0 of Rublon for Windows Logon and RDP that enables Rublon two-factor authentication for Microsoft RDP and local Windows logons. By default, Rublon authentication is enabled only for RDP logins.

You can now benefit from Rublon’s straightforward user experience by enabling RDP users to authenticate using the following 2FA methods: Email Link, Mobile Passcode (TOTP), SMS Passcode, QR Code, and Mobile Push. Rublon authentication for local Windows logons also supports WebAuthn/U2F Security Key.

Rublon for Windows Logon and RDP works well with Microsoft Active Directory, enabling users to log in using their domain accounts.

According to data compiled by Shodan, the number of RDP endpoints has gone from 3 million recorded at the start of the year to 4.4 million at the end of March. This is the right time to protect your remotely working organization.

This new integration is available free of charge to all Rublon customers and users of Rublon Free.
