What Is the Passkey Pledge?

Launched by the FIDO Alliance on April 9, 2025, the Passkey Pledge is a voluntary commitment for service providers, platforms, and authentication vendors to drive awareness, implementation, and expansion of passkey sign‑ins. Signatories promise to take measurable steps within 12 months to make passkeys more visible and more widely available, helping users experience sign‑ins that are both stronger and dramatically easier than traditional passwords.
