Rublon SSO Portal

Authentication made fast and easy

March 7, 2022 By Rublon Authors

Last updated on April 23, 2024

Overview

The Rublon SSO Portal is a Single Sign-On (SSO) portal that allows your users to access all integrated cloud applications with just one click. Once logged into the SSO Portal, your users will not have to log in to every application separately. They will be logged in automatically after selecting an application and approving a Mobile Push authentication request or completing any other authentication method available in Rublon.

Before you start

You need to install and configure Rublon Access Gateway. Read Rublon Access Gateway and follow the steps in the Installation and Configuration sections. Afterward, follow the Configuration section in this document.

Configuration

Follow the steps in this section to set up your Rublon SSO Portal. We assume you have set up your Authentication Source and added at least one application in Rublon Access Gateway.

Rublon Admin Console

1. Sign in to the Rublon Admin Console.

2. Select the Applications tab.

3. Click Add.

4. Set a Name, e.g., Rublon Access Gateway.

5. Leave out the URL field empty.

6. Set Type to Rublon Access Gateway.

7. Click Save to add your application.

8. Write down System Token and Private Key. You are going to need these values later.

Rublon Access Gateway

1. Sign in to the Rublon Access Gateway administrator panel at your_domain/config.

2. Go to the Settings tab and choose the SSO Portal subtab.

3. Enter the values of System Token and Private Key you have written down before.

4. Click SAVE ALL SETTINGS.

5. Go to the Applications tab and choose the All Applications subtab.

6. The All Applications subtab presents all applications that will be visible in the Rublon SSO Portal.

7. Every application’s default logo is that of Rublon. Click CHANGE LOGO to change the logo of an application. Logos should be PNG, JPG, JPEG, or SVG files no larger than 500 KB.

8. Your configuration is complete. You can test your setup by logging in to the Rublon SSO Portal.

Sign in to the Rublon SSO Portal

1. Open Rublon Access Gateway in your browser. You will be redirected to the Rublon Access Gateway login page.

2. Provide your username and password. Click SIGN IN.

Note

The username and password must be the username and password of a user that exists in your Identity Provider (IdP).

Ensure that your IdP (Active Directory, OpenLDAP, or RADIUS) has been configured and set to Active in the Authentication Source tab of the Rublon Access Gateway.

3. A window will appear with a selection of various 2FA options from Rublon. Let’s choose Mobile Push in this example.

4. You will be sent a push notification. Tap APPROVE.

5. You will be logged in to the Rublon SSO Portal.

6. Click an application of your choice. In this example, we chose WordPress.

7. Select your second-factor authentication method. Let’s choose Mobile Push again.

8. You will get another Mobile Push from Rublon. Tap APPROVE.

9. You will be successfully logged in to the application.

Note

For applications that support SLO (Single Logout), if you log out of your application, you will be also logged out of the Rublon SSO Portal.
