Rublon 2FA for FogBugz

2FA/MFA for FogBugz

Overview

The purpose of this document is to enable Rublon Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for users logging in to FogBugz. In order to achieve that, you have to use Rublon Access Gateway. All required steps will be described in this document.

FogBugz offers two types of accounts:

  • On-Demand
  • On-Premises

You can set up Rublon 2FA for both On-Demand and On-Premises versions of FogBugz. This documentation covers setting up Rublon 2FA for the On-Demand version of FogBugz. The configuration is slightly different for the On-Premises version. If you need instructions on how to set up Rublon 2FA for the On-Premises version of FogBugz, please contact Rublon Support.

Before you start

You need to install and configure Rublon Access Gateway itself before configuring FogBugz to work with it. Please read the Rublon Access Gateway documentation and follow the steps in Installation and Configuration sections. Afterwards, follow the Configuration section in this document.

Configuration

Follow these steps to enable Rublon 2FA in FogBugz.

Rublon Access Gateway

1. In Rublon Access Gateway, go to Applications → Add application.

2. Fill in the form and click SAVE to add a new application. Refer to the following image and table.

Application nameEnter a name for the application, e.g. FogBugz. The name will be displayed during Rublon 2FA.

Note: Replace example with the subdomain of your organization.

Certificate for signingSelect the certificate you have downloaded from Applications → Information for configuring applications with Rublon Access Gateway → DOWNLOAD CERTIFICATE.
Map attributesIn the IdP Attribute field, type mail.

In the SAML Response Attribute field, type FogBugzEmail.

FogBugz

1. Log in to FogBugz as Administrator.

2. Hover over your profile icon in the lower-left corner and select Site Configuration from the list.

3. Click the Authentication tab.

4. In the Authentication Mode field, select Username and Password or SAML Authentication.

Note

Username and Password or SAML Authentication is the recommended Authentication Mode while configuring Rublon 2FA. Once you configured Rublon 2FA and your setup worked, you can get back to this form and change Authentication Mode to SAML Authentication.

5. In the Identity Provider URL field, enter the value of SSO URL from Rublon Access Gateway (Applications → Information for configuring applications with Rublon Access Gateway).

6. Open the certificate you have downloaded from Applications → Information for configuring applications with Rublon Access Gateway → DOWNLOAD CERTIFICATE. Copy the entire contents and paste it into the Public x509 Signing Certificate field.

7. Configure other settings according to your needs.

8. Click OK to save your changes. After clicking OK, FogBugz will redirect you to the Rublon Access Gateway login page and Rublon 2FA will start. In case of any errors, FogBugz will redirect you back to the Authentication tab and display the error encountered while logging in.

Log in to FogBugz with Rublon 2FA

1. Initiate FogBugz login. If your subdomain is example, go to: https://example.fogbugz.com/.

2. Click Single Sing-On.

3. You will be redirected to the Rublon Access Gateway login page.

4. Provide your username and password. Click SIGN IN. A window will appear with a selection of various 2FA options from Rublon. Let’s choose Mobile Push.

5. You will be sent a push notification. Tap APPROVE.

6. You will be successfully logged in to FogBugz.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with your Rublon integration, please contact Rublon Support.
