Last updated on October 16, 2024

Rublon User Guide is meant for users who want to learn more about Rublon. If you are an administrator looking for deployment instructions, refer to our Documentation.

Overview

Rublon Prompt allows you to choose the authentication method to confirm your identity each time you log in to an application integrated with Rublon.

When logging in to one of the applications integrated with Rublon that supports Rublon Prompt, you will see a login page. After providing your credentials, you will see a window with a selection of various 2FA options from Rublon.

Which Services Support the Rublon Prompt?

The following services support the Rublon Prompt:

  • Windows Logon & RDP
  • RD Web Access
  • RD Web Client
  • Outlook Web App (OWA)
  • AD FS
  • Jira
  • Confluence
  • WordPress
  • Roundcube
  • Applications integrated via SAML using Rublon Access Gateway

If you do not see the Rublon Prompt during your login process, it might be due to the following reasons:

  • Your integrated application does not support the Rublon Prompt. The following services do not support the Rublon Prompt:
    • SSH (Linux)
    • RD Gateway
    • Veritas NetBackup
    • Services integrated via RADIUS using Rublon Authentication Proxy
  • Your logins are not browser-based.
  • Your administrator set a Default Authentication Method in a policy assigned to the application

Contact your administrator if you have any questions concerning the visibility of Rublon Prompt.

Use Rublon Prompt to confirm your identity

If you are performing a login to a Rublon-integrated application and have already completed the first step by providing the correct login credentials, you will be presented with the Rublon Prompt.

The preceding image portrays Rublon Prompt as seen when logging in to Rublon Admin Console, but Rublon Prompt looks the same for any integrated application.

Verify your identity using one of the available methods. Note that your administrator might have deactivated one or more authentication methods for security reasons or due to your organization’s policy.

Manage Authenticators

The Manage Authenticators view allows each Rublon user to manage their authenticators.

Users can add, edit, and remove their authentication devices, or activate Rublon Authenticator on the device added by administrators.

Enroll your security key

You can enroll your security key in the Manage Authenticators view. Refer to How to add a WebAuthn/U2F Security Key? to learn how to add your security key to Rublon.

Remember your device

If you continuously use and trust your current device, check Remember this device to bypass Rublon 2FA during your subsequent logins. Contact your administrator if you are unsure if bypassing 2FA is compliant with your organization’s security policies.

If you need help, encounter any errors, or cannot complete 2FA, click Need help? at the bottom of the Rublon Prompt.
